Jan 26
Today 7T wrote their fractions retest and 7K wrote a practice test.
Jan 24-25
We worked on theoretical probability and experimental probability. We also prepared for and wrote our probability unit test.
Jan 23
7K - Today we worked on 5.5 Notes and Assignment. Next day we will be reviewing for our Chapter 5 Unit Test. Chapter 5 Unit test will be on Wednesday.
7T Today we will be working in the computer lab on our video presentations
Jan 20
Please study for your Math Chapter 5 test and Chapter 4 rewrite. Students are reminded to bring their calculators to school.
Jan 19 Chapter 5 test is planned for Wednesday Jan 25. Chapter 4 rewrite will be offered on Tuesday Jan 24.
Jan 18 7K Today we reviewed probability of independent events problems and worked on our Chapter 4 retest preparation Jan 12 - 17 Grade 7 classes have been working on the Winter Science Fair: Structures and Forces Rube Goldberg Machines. We will be finishing off our Probability Unit and getting ready for our Chapter 5 Unit test on Jan 25. Our Chapter 4 retest has been moved to Jan 26. Jan 11
Today we will be working on solving probability problems
We will be doing our Chapter 4 rewrite this Friday as a whole class. Please arrange for extra help after school if you need help in preparing for the rewrite.
We also reviewed how to create tables and tree diagrams for determining Sample Space - we worked on pg. 169-170 # 4-12 in our textbook. Please complete the assignment for homework if you did not finish in class.
Today we will continue with our review of Fractions, Decimals and Percent Unit to prepare for our Unit 4 rewrite. We will also be completing our 5.2 Lesson and Practice with probability of independent events.
Dec 10 On Monday December 12 wewill be exploring Chapter 5 - Probability.
What is probability?
How can we learn about probability?
Here are some questions to consider:
1. When you flip a Canadian Penny, what is the probability (or the chance) that it will land with the maple leaf facing up? 2. When you roll a six-sided die, number 1 through 6, what is the probability (or the chance) that it will land on 8? 3. You have a bag of 8 red markers. What is the probability (or the chance) you will pull out a red marker? 4. You spin a spinner of 4 equal sections marked chocolate, fruit, frozen yogurt, and ice cream. What is the probability (or the chance) it will land on fruit. 5. A bag contains the letter A, B, C, D, E, F, G, and H. What is the probability (or the chance) that you will pull out an H? 6. A bag has 3 silver marbles and 1 gold marble. What is the probability (or the chance) that you will pull out a gold marble?
